Checkweighers manufactured by Driver Southall Ltd.
Checkweighers have evolved over time from the simple grading checkweighers, which simply accepted or rejected
packs on the basis of a single set point, to average recording checkweighers which calculate and display
statistical information about the production process.
Grading checkweighers may still be used for Class B packages which have a minimum weight requirement. They
may also be used to remove inadequate packs on a product line complying with average weights, but control by
sampling will still be required to ensure that the average weight is maintained, and that non-standard packs
are properly controlled.
Driver Southall Checkweighers have been developed to enable manufacturers to ensure their products remain
within specification and provide accuracy and reliability in the harshest of environments. Our checkweighers
can be supplied as, part of a complete line or interfaced with existing equipment to handle various pack types,
including envelopes, bags, trays and cartons.
Checkweighers automatically weigh products as they pass along a moving conveyor. Each pack is individually weighed to determine that its weight is correct. Any incorrect packs are rejected by an automatic mechanism.
What is the purpose of a Checkweigher?
- Reject incorrect pack weights
- Control the final pack weight
- Collect and monitor all pack data
